WASHINGTON — On social media, there are a lot of claims about what’s in the massive infrastructure bill. This includes a claim getting a lot of attention about alcohol monitoring systems, like breathalyzers, being mandated in new cars.

The Verify team looked at the language in the bill to get a better understanding of this policy, and spoke with experts for context.

  1. How about controlling texting while driving… I’d bet there’s more accidents from texting than from drinking but both are dangerous

  2. Sure, put them in those electric vehicles that are mandated in the 30’s. Keep that future cost skyrocketing and watch all those new EV’s sit when no one buys them.

  3. GOOD!!!! How many times do we see over and over again and again so and so arrested and it’s their 6, 8, 12 DUI.
    Talk about repeat offenders and killer running loose!
