What happened: In a viral TikTok video, a white woman — whose identity remains unknown — is seen yelling at another woman behind the camera for walking an “unleashed” dog. She is also accused of hurling racial slurs and spitting at her.

• The incident reportedly occurred at a park in Battery Park City, a predominantly residential neighborhood of upscale apartments. It was 6:30 a.m. and there were still a few people in the area.
• The video, posted by TikTok user @mk__ml11, shows the woman criticizing her for having an unleashed dog on the grass. She also insults her by saying that she cannot read English.
• “Are you racist?” @mk__ml11 asks. To this, the white woman responds, “Oh, apparently you don’t have to do anything that Americans have to do.”
