Hogan says he will continue ‘to put pressure on the legislature’ to target violent crime

The relentless and deadly violence continues in Baltimore City as two more people were killed on Monday, after a weekend filled with bloodshed and little to no end in sight or a plan to save lives.

In Annapolis, lawmakers hailed the General Assembly Session as productive after hours and hours of debate turned into a package of bills that centered around police reform. There were a handful of bills that did not make it out of the state House, despite clearing the Senate, and Gov. Larry Hogan said Monday tackling the violent crime will be a priority next session.

“We will continue to put as much pressure on our friends in the legislature as we can,” Hogan said. There’s no new magic solution. We just need the house to pass the legislation that we and the Democrats in the Senate keep agreeing on.

  1. easy fix larry..allow our constitutional right for a concealed weapon permit to be excercised…save state tons in policing courts and jails

  2. Step out of the way and let the NAACP solve the problem.
After all, advancement is what they are all about.

  3. What we see here is a state legislature loaded with liberal Democrats and who happen to be mostly African Americans. Who are committing the violent crimes? African Americans who happen to vote Democrat!

  4. Larry has tried, was at the ready when the riots happened – yet the Mayor’s seat said no. Reap it Mayor O’Bmer. Reap Reap Reap.

  5. Adolph Hogan does not realize it is a little late to turn to Republican ideals. Adolph Hogan is turning to Stacy Abrams Democrat ways since the POLES proves he is a complete failure.
POLS prove he has done nothing to comply with his campaign promises.

  6. Not rocket science. Bust the bad boys, high bail so they’re off the street, prompt trials, aggressive prosecution, max sentences when convicted, any/all pleas include prison.

The general population is traumatized and won’t share because the perps will be back on the street and killing those who try to help cops and prosecutors. Of course, the States Attorney is a crook who won’t prosecute, and the AG only gets involved in group suits against the past president. If Hogan can replace Mosby, he should. He should be flooding Bawlmor with MSP.

There are plenty of laws on the books; they just need enforced, for the benefit of the population and to put a permanent dent in the perps.

  7. Another easy fix..get rid of the Maryland justice Reinvestment Act… excellent start to reducing crime…

  8. Time to Put PRESSURE on RINO Hogan to Continue Federal Stimulus & Unemployment for Marylanders Until
the Congress approved date of Sept 4 2021 !!!!

Don’t let him STEAL it from Maryland’s people on JUL 03, 2021 !!!!

    1. He STOLE Your money just to please those Ocean City crybabies over Not enough workers !!!!
They NEVER have workers every year because they Don’t pay Shhht !!!!

  9. RINO Hogan being sued along with Maryland for STEALING Marylander’s Stimulus & Unemployment Money
(so FRAUD by the State ) on Jul 03 2021 soon !!!! Congress Approved this $$$ until Sept 2021 Not July 2021 !!!!
