A police department in Maine put out a public service announcement of sorts on Tuesday to anyone thinking of finally taking action on their threat to move to Canada if their candidate of choice didn’t end up winning in the contest between President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden
“If you have determined that moving to Canada is your primary goal if the other candidate wins, it should be noted that we would rather you choose another route to gain access to that wonderful country,” the Bangor Police Department said on Facebook.
“Might we first suggest using a boat or aircraft to gain access to the land of the majestic – poutine-fattened – beaver,” police joked in the post.
Anyone who heads up north must also be aware that Canada and the United States will keep their border closed until at least Nov. 21 as the countries continue to fight the coronavirus pandemic. That closure has been extended several times as COVID-19 cases continue to grow in the U.S.
