A Georgia sheriff’s K-9 has died after his handler left the dog in a hot patrol car for hours, leading to the sergeant’s demotion.
Monroe County Sheriff Brad Freeman said Sgt. Willie Barkley, now a deputy, was working overnight on May 13 when he left K-9 officer Khan asleep in the car while he finished up reports in the driveway of his home.
In the early hours of May 14, Barkley went inside the house and left the four-year-old Belgian Malinois in the patrol car, instead of taking the dog to his pen in the yard.
He should be charged with animal cruelty as anyone would be, as an officer it showed thoughtlessness especially since the vehicle was at his own place could have been put in yard or house. He didn’t remain in the hot car but I am sure went to work in the AC-deplorable.
Fire that officer and ban him from ever having animals again!
I’ll start off by saying I fully support the police and this is not a shot at the police community as a whole. But, are you f’n kidding me? A demotion is his punishment? He willfully left his dog in the car AND removed the safety device for the dog. He murdered that dog and he gets a demotion. What would happen to you or I if we killed a police service dog?
3:49…. you KNOW what would happen to “We, the people”.
Prison.
HE gets “demoted”. Poor thing.
Cops are the GREATEST of all “Two Sets of Laws” proponents.
THEY do whatever they want — speed, assault, rob, steal, and kill. Just to name SOME of their actions “in the name of the law”.
YOU go to prison. They get “Officer of the Year”.
Revolution.
But, first, you’ll have to get off your knees.
