Shaun Donovan was detained at a lower Manhattan police station for about an hour on Tuesday morning after he joined about a half-dozen protesters to block traffic in remembrance of the killing of George Floyd.
The former HUD secretary-turned-mayoral candidate, Donovan wore a black-and-white “BLACK LIVES MATTER” t-shirt, kneeled with the demonstrators, stalling traffic at a ramp onto the Holland Tunnel in Tribeca.
Donovan’s hands were zip-tied, and hauled into the First Precinct station house before he was charged with disorderly conduct and released about 10:55 a.m.
“This fight isn’t new to me, this is a day that every New Yorker should be standing up,” said Donovan, who has struggled to make waves in the crowded Democratic primary.
Sounds qualified to me. He gets it. Should be just right in the position.
Now you all know who NOT to vote into power in NY…
