Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer can’t stop violating her own coronavirus restrictions.

Back on May 18th of last year, Whitmer announced that some lockdown restrictions would be lifted before Memorial Day weekend to allow residents to visit parks and lakes but warned “If you don’t live in these regions … think long and hard before you take a trip into them.” Three days later a Michigan marina owner exposed that Whitmer’s husband Marc Mallory called him to ask him to put their boat in the water before memorial day. When the owner said that it wouldn’t be possible for logistical reasons, he was met with the response “I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?” When this act of hypocrisy got media coverage, they tried to play off his comment as a “bad joke.”

In March of this year Whitmer used a jet owned by prominent business executives for a $27,521 flight to Florida to visit her sick father. The FAA says the air travel company wasn’t authorized to perform charter flights. Whitmer paid $855, while the rest of the tab was picked up by Michigan Transition 2019, a nonprofit established for inauguration events. The trip came as Whitmer was publicly telling her state’s residents to avoid travel.
