An Alabama state trooper accused of raping a child was previously kicked out of the FBI while facing sexual misconduct claims, The Associated Press reported Wednesday, citing its findings after investigating the case.
Christopher Bauer was arrested last week on charges of allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl. The state trooper stepped down from his position, saying it was for “personal reasons,” and remained in jail as of Wednesday.
Bauer was hired by the state police in 2019 after he was suspended from the FBI’s New Orleans office without pay and stripped of his security clearance the previous year.
He was accused by a co-worker of repeatedly sexually assaulting her and raping her at knifepoint, the AP reported.
The woman had a restraining order against Bauer on public record and Bauer was forced to give up his “firearms, weapons, swords and knives.”
However, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency — the state police — said they did a “full and thorough” background check on Bauer before hiring him and “no derogatory comments were uncovered by former employers,” according to a statement shared with The Hill.
No crime here, under the new “Woke Liberal” rules all he has to say is “He identifies as her boyfriend” and if he promises to become a Democrat all will be excused.
Sounds about the norm for the FBI
