CDC updates COVID safety guidelines for summer camps, just weeks ahead of summer break

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its COVID safety guidance for summer camps, urging children and staff to continue to wear masks and social distance.

The update was issued over the weekend and urged children and adults to continue to wear masks even if they are immunized and urged children to social distance at 3 feet apart and 6 feet apart for adults.

The guidance also states everyone in camp facilities should wear masks at all times, with exceptions including eating and drinking or swimming,” according to The New York Times.

The new guidelines apply to day camps and sleepaway camps, with the latter having extra requirements such as vaccination of adult employees and a two-week pre-arrival quarantine.

  1. There wont be a problem in OC. (Wait now Rickie…dont jump for joy just yet…plus its not a nice look having an old man jumping up and down. Funny ok but still)

Beach goers hit the beach, enjoy it but then lunch and or dinner. Guess what? Gettin off the beach quick for lunch at an indoor facility will require a mask. Thats the rule…who is gonna enforce that? Telling a patron with cash in hand NO? How is that gonna play out? Will establishments be able to handle that? Should they offer supplies just in case? Will City Hall issue supplemental guidance or just focus on revenue OR keeping the boardwalk noise ordinance front and center.

Key here is the unleashing of the hounds after losing summer in 2020. People and businesses. With the exact same amount of local LEOs for enforcement. City Hall, dont think you are the only MD town folks will flock to either. That thought of getting more help from the State Leos for events….hahahaha. counties throughout MD will need assistance too. Hope you have a backup plan cuz the hounds are coming and you dont have enough business help or Leos to handle it.

That will cause a bunch of unhappy vacations.

    One month until memorial day!!!!!
