Ocean City One Step Away From New Noise Ordinance

The town of Ocean City is one step away from clamping down on people who are too loud on the boardwalk.

Mayor Rick Meehan says a new study found the allowable noise threshold for the boardwalk area to be about the equivalent of a car driving 65 miles per hour.

The new noise threshold would allow officers to enforce and prosecute those who are too loud. That includes street performers, partygoers and large crowds.

Mayor Meehan says the decision was made after a recent federal court hearing found the town did not have the right to enforce such a law because there was no actual limit on what could be deemed too loud.

The town is now taking the next steps to pass an enforceable noise ordinance.

  1. OC officials- you think last year was bad? Just wait for the 2021 June locusts, I mean bugs to descend. Are you watching the videos of SWAT teams in Miami Beach dealing with supposed “spring breakers” right now? For the sake of the residents and OC workers, please be prepared

    1. HAHAHAHAHA prepared? HAHAHHAHAHAHA our group of leaders?

The life and times living on a resort island friend. The newer generation has no respect for themselves or authority like we did in the 60’s and 70’s.

      Damn MTV ruined it!

      HAHAHAHAHA
