A Florida man has been arrested and charged with sexual battery after he allegedly posed as an Uber driver to pick up and rape an 18-year-old spring breaker.
Shapsly Silencieux, 37, is accused of luring the unidentified victim into his car in Fort Lauderdale Saturday night before driving her to his apartment where he sexually assaulted her.
The victim, who had traveled from Alabama to visit friends in Florida, had become lost from the group as they enjoyed a night at America’s Backyard in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
The 18-year-old then got into Silencieux’s car along the 100 block of Southwest 3rd Avenue when he allegedly tricked her into thinking he was the ride she ordered.
Fort Lauderdale Police said the victim booked an Uber and then saw Silencieux pull up in his white Infiniti – which matched the description of the car she was waiting for.
So. she goes to his apartment without resistance or telling him “no” this is not where I want to go ?
