Iran’s New Supreme Leader, Rumored Dead or Wounded in Airstrike, Now Reportedly Taken to Moscow for Surgery

Portrait of a man with a beard and glasses, wearing a traditional black turban, set against a dark background.
Mojtaba’s condition is a hot geopolitical topic.

Where is the new Ayatollah?

Depending on who you chose to trust, the new Iranian Ayatollah, Mojtaba Khamenei, is: well and in control of his country; slightly wounded with a broken leg and facial lacerations; badly wounded, lost a leg and is ‘disfigured’; in a coma; or, as US President Donald J. Trump put it, ‘not alive’.

There is rampant speculation over the situation involving the new Supreme Leader of the embattled Islamic Republic of Iran, supposed to be leading the fight for the survival of his regime, but actually nowhere to be seen.

Now, a new report has arisen, with media in Kwait claiming ‘he has been rushed to Moscow for emergency leg surgery’.
