Top Maryland Democrats still haven’t provided an answer on how much money the state spends on nonprofit organizations, following multiple inquiries, though a representative from the governor’s office said last week that he’s working on it.
Spokespeople for Democratic Senate President Bill Ferguson and Democratic House Speaker Adrienne Jones didn’t respond after being asked last week about the state’s nonprofit spending. David Turner, a spokesperson for Democrat Gov. Wes Moore, said he’s working on gathering the information, adding that it’s a labor-intensive process and antiquated technology systems are contributing to the delay.
