CLOSED SESSIONS scheduled for June 16

I hope you can make it out tomorrow at 6 pm to the city council meeting because it looks like they are either going to have to “double down” on a bad decision and go into a closed session, or they could do the sensible thing for a change and be transparent.  Please see the message below:
City Council Members:
There is no good reason for you to discuss current lawsuits filed against the city and possible future litigation in multiple Closed Sessions. Transparent government means having “discussions” out in the open NOT out of the public’s view, behind closed doors, in secret!  As taxpayers, we the public, have a vested interest in these lawsuits and should be able to hear and witness council’s “discussions”.
This council held a Closed Session on June 20, 2023 that was determined to be illegal. That Closed Session is cited in the very lawsuit that you plan to “discuss” in Closed Session #1!  Why not be TRANSPARENT this time?
Will Closed Session #1 be televised Live on PAC 14 @ 5:30 pm?  If not, this Closed Session should be moved to later in the evening when it can be video documented.
Carolyn Wohlgemuth
City Resident
