After losing the election in November, the Democrats devised a game plan to stop the implementation of President Donald Trump’s agenda. Since Democrats no longer controlled Congress or the White House, they decided to focus on the judiciary.
Consequently, 23 Democrat Attorney Generals decided to meet daily for “a thirty-minute confidential video chat to coordinate their plans for pushing back against the Trump administration.” The coordinated resistance was joined by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and other left-wing organizations. The result has been unprecedented success in the federal courts.
For Democrat Party resistance, it helps that President Joe Biden appointed 228 judges to the federal courts, the most for a four-year period since the administration of President Jimmy Carter. Overall, 60% of active federal district court judges have been appointed by Democrat Presidents.
Thus, it has been easy for opponents of Trump’s agenda to find sympathetic judges. Of the 30 judges who have either partially or fully blocked Trump executive actions, 26 have been appointed by a Democrat President.
The most infamous case involved Judge James Boasberg, a federal district court judge appointed by President Barack Obama, who “issued a temporary restraining order halting the Trump administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans that the White House insists are part of a gang.”
In response, President Trump posted on social media, “If it was up to District Judge Boasberg and other Radical Left Judges, nobody would be removed, the President wouldn’t be allowed to do his job, and people’s lives would be devastated all throughout our Country.”
