As early as 2020, most people could see that Joe Biden was a shadow of his former self if they were honest about it. Unfortunately, it happens to all of us sooner or later, and we make the best of it. But the rest of us were not running to be the leader of the free world as Biden was. Now, the inevitable tell-all books are coming out about the Biden presidency that paint a more frightening picture than we ever imagined about Biden’s mental state. But if Democrats want to yell and scream about a “constitutional crisis,” former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich says we may just have one, and we need to find out exactly what was happening.
Gingrich appeared Thursday night with Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters and called for either a joint House-Senate committee or a special commission to investigate the extent to which Biden was mentally debilitated during his time in office and if White House staff actively covered it up. Gingrich stated that any investigation should determine the truth about whether Biden was fit to serve and any constitutional implications of someone who is not president making decisions on his behalf.
The kind of details Gingrich is talking about are in a new book by Chris Whipple. Whipple writes that former Chief of Staff Ron Klain, who helped Biden with prep for his debate with Donald Trump, said that he “half-seriously” wondered if Biden believed he was President of NATO and was not comprehending the back and forth of debate. Biden would also fall asleep by the pool during debate prep. The debate prep team would also have to cut sessions short due to Biden’s fatigue, and Klain was fearful that the debate would end up being the train wreck that it was. Gingrich stated that any committees or commissions need to ask four pertinent questions.
