Sad Trombone: Dems in Deep Disarray As More Bad Polling News Hits Them Where It Hurts

Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), for instance, has fallen way out of favor with Democrats after he caved to Republicans and Trump on the CR. Meanwhile, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) – who are both admitted socialists – have been touring the country and presenting themselves as the future of the party, with the woke AOC even being floated as a possible Schumer challenger, or even a presidential contender, in 2028.

Failed 2024 Democrat vice presidential nominee and Gov. Tim Walz (MN) is another who, like California Gov. Gavin Newsom, is trying to position himself as the answer in 2028, but who, in the process, is doing nothing but embarrassing himself and his fellow Democrats along the way.

As further evidence that Democrats truly are in disarray, we turn to recent polling which shows approval and favorability ratings for them at historic lows:

Thirty-seven percent of [Harvard CAPS/Harris poll] voters said they approved of the party in March, just slightly up from 36 percent in February. The latest approval ratings for the party are the lowest since March of 2018.

An NBC News poll released earlier this month found that only 27 percent of voters said they had a positive view of the Democratic Party, while 55 percent of voters said they have a negative view of it. Additionally, 20 percent of Democrats in the poll said they have a negative view of the party.

A separate CNN poll also released this month showed the party with a record-low 29 percent favorability rating. Fifty-two percent of Democratic-aligned adults said the leadership of the Democratic Party is currently taking the party in the wrong direction, compared with 48 percent who said the party’s leaders were taking them in the right direction.
