Voters back Trump’s deportation efforts two to one: Poll

Despite the deportations, a majority of 58% said the United States is friendlier to immigrants than other countries, while 28% said the opposite.

Amajority of voters support President Donald Trump’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants, with a plurality expressing the belief that they haven’t gone far enough.

Sixty-four percent of registered voters supported the effort, including 39% who strongly favored it in the latest Napolitan News Survey. Just 28% opposed it, including 12% who did so strongly.

The results were comparable to last month’s survey, in which 65% supported the effort and 29% opposed it.

A plurality of 31% said that the deportations had not gone far enough, moreover, while 26% said they were at the right levels, and 29% said they had gone too far. Fourteen percent were unsure.

Conducted March 10, the survey questioned 1,000 registered voters.
