Congressman Harris Releases Statement on Attempts To Blame Maryland’s State Finances on President Trump

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Harris, M.D., released the following statement in response to attempts by the Democrat-controlled Maryland General Assembly and the Governor to pin the blame for their disastrous state finances on President Trump.

Statement From Congressman Harris:

“It’s absolutely absurd that the Democrat-controlled Maryland General Assembly and Governor are trying to pin the blame for their disastrous state finances on President Trump. This is classic Democrat misdirection—create a mess, then point fingers at anyone but themselves.

Back in November, impartial fiscal analysts warned the General Assembly about Maryland’s dire financial situation—a staggering $3 billion deficit just two years into the governor’s term. President Trump wasn’t inaugurated until January. So how exactly is he responsible for Maryland’s fiscal mismanagement?

The truth is, Democrats in Annapolis have spent recklessly, taxed aggressively, and now they’re scrambling for a scapegoat. Instead of taking responsibility for their failures, they’re trying to shift the blame onto someone who had nothing to do with their financial meltdown. Maryland taxpayers deserve better than this kind of political spin.”

  1. Andy Harris is right! The only one to blame for Maryland’s financial fiasco is that worthless POS governor Tax Moore.

  2. I would like to add that I live in PG county. An unfortunate circumstance but in the last year I have gotten two red camera citations. I do my best to keep the speed limit but when I’m in a 40 mph zone and they change it to 35 then cite me when I’m going 48 (more than 10 mph over) it is obnoxious. The red camera was I admit a rolling stop but that was only because the lane was clear and the light had just turned. In spite of the honks and hollars I don’t right turn on red anymore. The point is they are taxing the hell out of us for no reason other than they have spent money they shouldn’t have spent.
What losers we are here in Maryland. Personally I would leave if I werent so attached by circumstance to this area. For others – either vote Republican or leave for friendlier pastures. Maryland SUCKS. We are a one party state and they refuse to work with President Trump as he is bringing in jobs. That speaks volumes.

  3. I’m just a simple person writing this, so here goes.
On Moores first day in office, his check book had 5 billion dollars in it.
On what day into his administration did the balance hit zero dollars.
Were there not red flags and sirens going off in Moores office saying ” you are now broke ” ?
I for one would like to see a break down of where the 5 billion dollars went before Moore started writing ” bad ” checks.
I have read, seen and heard many times that the citizens of Maryland would like to see DOGE audit Marylands books. Well, Moore himself would have to do that and appoint someone to start a ” Maryland DOGE “.
Just like President Trump appointed Elon Musk to head the DOGE.
Moore is not going to that because all fingers are going to point right back to him and the general assembly on all the wasteful spending that has happened and will continue to happen as long as Moore is in office.

  4. so where are our local republican legislators? why arent they identifying individuals to run against the corrupt DemonicRats in annapolis? seems to me they would have a real shot at change, unless of course they dont want change since they are just as corrupt and getting their grift on! think I m close to hitting the nail on the head Mr. Adams?
