ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) — Gov. Wes Moore told a Maryland House of Delegates joint committee session that more needs to be done to balance the state’s budget, blaming President Donald Trump’s administration for deepening state budget concerns.
The governor addressed a packed committee room filled with state lawmakers and the public on Thursday afternoon in the Maryland Department of Legislative Services (MDLS) joint hearing auditorium. A line of participants gathered in the hall outside the doors, waiting to be allowed inside.
Balancing the state budget for a third year in a row would be hard during normal times, and these are not normal times,” Gov. Moore said. “The world has changed significantly in just six weeks, and our final state budget needs to reflect that harsh reality.”
A House staffer not authorized to speak to the media told Spotlight on Maryland that 103 individuals signed up to testify about the governor’s budget.
Multiple lawmakers said they received a 69-page budget document from MLDS and the governor’s office overnight Wednesday. The booklet included a combination of budget cuts, reallocations, and tax code modifications.
Don’t blame Trump for the last 4 years of the Biden administration for destroying this country and your own wasteful spending. Moore needs to be impeached.People need to wake up and stop voting for Democrats and that goes for state, city, and county elections.
revolution!
less more balmes Trump ? For what?
Trump didn’t blow our money !!
less more blew it, and to know hogan endorsed this Turd is almost as bad.
Typical of Moore he raises taxes through the roof then offers small tax breaks for specific people and claims he cut taxes
how ironic…he made this mess and doesn’t have a clue how to clean it up. Listen to our Republicans! Cut the budget! cut the waste. One big problem is that many people in MD cities are on welfare and gov. handouts and are demon crats and they will vote for themselves to have more handouts. Unless people contribute to society by paying taxes they should not be voting!
Nor should they be getting all the freebies handed to them by this POS gov. Les Moore. If you don’t work……………you don’t eat! Simple as that!
