Former President Joe Biden’s squandering of the healthy economy left to him by the first Trump administration had another bruising effect on consumers besides historic inflation and soaring interest rates.
According to a new analysis shared with Secrets, Bidenomics also saw the highest average electric price in history.
The Payless Power survey of prices under presidents since Jimmy Carter showed a price of 16 cents per kilowatt-hour during Biden’s term, a 24% jump over the first Trump administration when it was 13 cents.
During President Donald Trump’s first term, from 2017 to 2021, electricity prices took a rare turn lower. The kilowatt-hour cost dropped 1.8% during his four years.
Typically, costs rise, though during former President Bill Clinton’s eight years, costs dropped over 4%.
