We have been advised by Emergency Services that the pending storm will begin between 12:00 and 2:00 PM To be sure our employees are able to get home safely, we will offer liberal leave to employees starting at noon.
Today, Tuesday, the Newland Park Landfill and both the Upper and Whitehaven ferries will be closing at 12:00 PM in preparation for the storm.
A decision about possible closure of the external convenience centers tomorrow will be announced after 5:00 today.
Travelers are encouraged to remain off the roads for the duration of the storm but if required to travel, to allow for additional travel and stopping distance. Roads in Wicomico and throughout the State will include a presence of hundreds of pieces of snow removal equipment. Please maintain awareness of the presence of this equipment on the roads and exercise caution when traveling behind and around these vehicles as well.
Snow Hill Road should be closed for impassable conditions.
