A Thornton Township, Illinois board of trustees meeting was marred by a massive brawl after a resident called out Democratic Mayor Tiffany Henyard of Dolton, Illinois, over a review detailing mismanagement, according to multiple reports.
Henyard, who also serves as a supervisor for Thornton Township, joined in the brawl that derailed a meeting during which the council approved legislation that ended a shutdown of services, according to ABC 7 Chicago. Local activist Jedidiah Brown called for the township’s board of trustees to place two of Henyard’s associates on paid leave before unleashing a personal tirade at Henyard.
“You gone, bitch,” Brown said after accusing Henyard of “sleeping her way to the top” and for being a “half-assed mayor,” the Daily Mail reported.
Henyard’s boyfriend, Kamal Woods, rushed toward Brown, starting the fight that ended the board of trustees meeting. Henyard was seen joining the brawl, during which she lost a shoe, according to CBS Chicago
The board of trustees voted to place Woods, who collects a six-figure salary to run a program for “at-risk youth,” and Henyard ally William Moore on paid leave following the Monday release of a report requested by former Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago into Dolton’s finances, the Daily Mail also reported.
