Former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton sat politely as President Donald Trump excoriated their failures and what he described as the “betrayals” of the political class in his second inaugural address.
“We have a government that has given unlimited funding to the defense of foreign borders but refuses to defend American borders or, more importantly, its own people,” Trump said. “Our country can no longer deliver basic services in times of emergency, as recently shown by the wonderful people of North Carolina being treated so badly and other states who are still suffering from a hurricane that took place many months ago.”
“Or, more recently, Los Angeles, where we were watching fires still tragically burn from weeks ago without even a token of defense,” he continued. “They’re raging through the houses and communities, even affecting some of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in our country, some of whom are sitting here right now.”
Trump’s speech after becoming president again was followed by a flurry of “shock and awe” executive orders rolling back a host of Biden administration initiatives, several of them signed in public at Capital One Arena. He told Democratic officials to their faces that he would be undoing their handiwork.
Now that’s real leader, not afraid to tell the truth or step on toes. Trump is one of a kind. I do believe like him, that his life was spared in Pennsylvania to save our country
