ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Wes Moore today released the following statement regarding the tentative labor agreements reached between the State of Maryland and State government’s seven major employee labor unions before the December 31, 2024 deadline:
“I’m pleased to announce that the State of Maryland has reached tentative labor agreements in partnership with Maryland’s seven major employee labor unions. I would like to thank representatives from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; the Maryland Professional Employees Council; the American Federation of Teachers; the State Law Enforcement Officers Labor Alliance; the International Association of Fire Fighters; and the Fraternal Order of Police for their partnership during negotiations. While members must ratify final memoranda of understanding, we are again encouraged by our progress.
The Moore-Miller Administration is committed to growing our economy and restoring faith in our public institutions—and our State employees are a critical part of our strategy. We are grateful for their many contributions, and together, we will continue to uplift the dignity of their service.”
Dissolve unions no reason for state empoyees to be unionied. They have better deals then most hard working tax payers who woll get this big hefty bill.
Whats the state doing for the real PEOPLE!!
UNIONSare why md has some of the highest taxes!
For what! Broken schools, funding illegals.
How about the retirement tax being removed.
Unions are outdated, a joke and in bed dems/ dirty laundry
I can’t wait to move
This state taxes will only go higher
No cuts just increases..
Labor unions for government employees should be illegal!
moron, giving it all away! everything is free unless you the workin man!
