President Donald Trump has announced the ‘America First’ team that will work alongside Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth to restore America’s military to greatness.
Hegseth is expected to face his first public questioning from U.S. senators on Jan. 14, 2025, just days before Trump’s inauguration on January 20th.
He will sit before the Senate with the support of over 100 Navy SEALs and over 120 retired U.S. generals and admirals behind him.
Trump took to Truth Social to announce the new DOD team (emphasis added.)

A highly respected advocate for our America First foreign and defense policy, Bridge will work closely with my outstanding Secretary of Defense Nominee, Pete Hegseth, to restore our Military power, and achieve my policy of PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH. Bridge served with distinction in the Pentagon in my First Term, leading the effort on my landmark 2018 Defense strategy.
