Beloved pastor ‘killed by illegal migrant driving without a license’ in Detroit

A beloved pastor was brutally killed while on his morning walk after being struck by a driver allegedly in the country illegally.

Stephen Singleton, a 72-year-old devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was wearing a reflective vest and crossing in a marked crosswalk on November 3rd when he was fatally hit around 6:45 am in Rochester Hills, a suburb of Detroit.

He was left with ‘almost every bone in his body broken,’ organ and brain damage and required extensive surgeries, according to the family’s GoFundMe.

n November 8, he was declared brain dead and taken off support.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office revealed the driver was a 28-year-old Colombian national who was not legally in the United States.

The driver possessed a valid foreign driver’s license – which is an accepted form of ID Michigan, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.

His heartbroken wife, Teri Singleton, told the outlet about the moment she found out about the tragic news.

‘I had to sit and watch my husband of 53 years die in front of me and then to know that the person who did this is walking around is very difficult to deal with,’ she said.
