ANNAPOLIS, Md. (7News) — The education plan called Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, otherwise known as Kirwan, increases spending on Maryland public schools by $3.8 billion per year for the next 10 years.
It aims to expand access to pre-K and raises teacher pay. It also boosts specific spending on children experiencing poverty.
However, new legislative analysis has revealed an additional 110,000 students in that category, raising the cost of the plan by $1.6 billion over the next five years. Governor Wes Moore saying today something has to give.
“There has to be a smart and sober way of adjusting the numbers and the amount of students that have to be served,” Moore said.
Time for this so-called plan to be eliminated. MD spends an amazing amount of money on education and our students are not testing well at all. Schools are just leftist propaganda outlets. What happened to teaching writing, reading and math? Let’s get back to basics and cut this albatross from around our necks.
Hopefully Trump will keep his word and most of these illegal students will go back to their “home” country and we can afford to educate our citizens again.
There’s no need to spend money to educate our kids. None at all. They can read books and participate in discussions about those books. and they can do math and particpate in math discussions and reading and writing and arithmetic. THIS DOES NOT COST MONEY!
Consider A. Lincoln…
How about cutting the pay of BaltoCityPublicSchools “CEO” Sonja? According to current “enrollment” (not representative of actual students showing up) she makes over $5K per student this year! And we’re paying for it, not to mention the disservice to Baltimore City children!
