U.S. Senate candidate Angela Alsobrooks commits to repaying property taxes on MD, DC homes

U.S. Senate Candidate Angela Alsobrooks committed to paying the government back for claiming tax credits she wasn’t entitled to, according to her campaign.

Alsobrooks received a homestead tax credit on a property in Prince George’s County and a property in Washington, D.C. She also received a senior tax break on the home in Washington, D.C. CNN first reported the tax tangles over the weekend.

Financial disclosures and state property records indicate Alsobrooks claimed a townhome in Upper Marlboro as a source of rental income, but she received a homestead tax credit on the same property, despite it being listed as a source of rental income. It’s unclear when exactly Alsobrooks started renting the property; her campaign did not answer direct questions about that.

“When Angela bought her new property, the homestead tax credit from her previous home was not transferred. This resulted in no financial gain for Angela,” said Connor Lounsbury, senior adviser to Alsobrooks. “In fact, she ended up paying more in taxes than she would have had the credit transferred over. Nevertheless, Angela is working to repay any credits received on the old property.”

In Washington, D.C., Alsobrooks’ campaign noted that she took over the mortgage payments when her grandmother left the property, and likely continued to claim the senior tax break.

  1. She is acknowledging that there is sufficient evidence to convict her.
Why hasn’t she been charged – oh, never mind, she’s a Democrat!

While I am not a real RINO Hogan supporter, he is better than this Ho!
