  1. Another Prime example of what happens when power heads close their minds to working with other departments and people who’ve been elected by the majority. Because this council has continually at every opportunity butted heads, shunned, closed doors and just flat out made it difficult for the executive office to function (dont ignore the fact that the majority of this county voted FOR the executive FORM and for this Executive} Continually closing doors and lines of communication to other departments/offices, refusing to be openminded and professional with EVERYONE, this is how we’ve arrived to this point! I dont think that the executive office made a good decision with this, but there is ZERO dought that if the executive had not been ostracized but most of this council and communication channels were approachable then certainly this would never have happened. When you resist every step of the way with working with this executive….your resisting and fighting every citizen that voted for this. Put your petty childish ways aside and WORK at making this work.

    1. Everything you mentioned (power head, closed mind, petty, childish, does not work well with others) describes a narcissist to a T. She needs to go!

  2. Speaking of transparency. Julie G. seems to prefer to do things behind closed doors. She skirted the MOU procedures by one day(?), so the County Council would not be involved. Now she gives County property to a Facebook page without the knowledge of the Council. Both acts may have been legal, but in my opinion, both were shady deals. I agree that there are good points and not so good points on the argument of keeping the public informed. However, there is nothing good about the way she went about it. Years ago, I voted to have a County Executive, and I also voted for Julie G. Now, I think both those decisions may have been wrong.

      1. You are correct 1:46, two people are to should be charged for this illegal act against law enforcement. earl campbell and julie giordano were both irresponsible.

        1. “Deadbeat Denny” has always been irresponsible. Check him out on Maryland Judiciary Case Search for the details… 😉

  3. Part time
    Banning and blocking people.

And some else commented, there are already resources keeping citizens informed, such as amber alerts and newscasts.

If he has to wait 15 to 30 minutes to publish, its already too late and you are already uninformed of the guman in your area, so this excuse is not valid.

It was Lewis’s problem to solve, and he was not given sufficient time to solve it. Lewis can’t just spend $150k, out of budget, without review.

Albero was successful because he actually had his own site, moderated and published the comments and this controlled liability and privacy.

Someone comments private info and it sits there while he is gone all day is a potential problem.

You seriously have to wonder about the county lawyer who participated in and approved this.

From a legal standpoint, Lewis is correct.

  4. I’m not a fan of Mike Lewis but I have to agree with him on this. If Earl Campbell a private citizen can have access to a county radio anyone should be able to get one. Another question, how did the county executive get her hands on a radio to give him?

  5. Giordano is doing a great job for the county, A bunch of self serving rich good ole boys are trying to run her out so they aren’t exposed

    1. Rich good ole boys? The only one with that kind of money is John Cannon and he inherited his father’s business. The self-serving one seems to be Julie with her side deals. Name one great thing that she has done for the county?

  6. If your spidey sense weren’t comfortable with him before, watch his latest pod cast of drama, denial, and insults.

Seems no one is safe from his, public critiquing of your being and self promoting ego boosting.

    1. I’ve avoided it, so far. Didn’t want to give him any hits. Might have to check it out for a chuckle, regardless…

        1. 11:26 kinda stupid not to view and see what the real agenda is.
For someone who claims to not like drama he sure wrapped himself in a blanket of it.

    2. I give him credit for what he thought to achieve, but it seems little of this was handled correctly, from the page set up, to the mou.
It’s like no one sat down and thought thru all the challenges and needs.

  7. WHO the hell does this women think she is? Do you people have any clue what she has done?

She has put every Deputy in the are life at risk because some one who wanted to be big guy on FB blog could report every call going on.

    Remove this idiot.

  8. You are correct 1:46, two people are to should be charged for this illegal act against law enforcement. earl campbell and julie giordano were both irresponsible.

  9. 3 Thoughts:

    1) The Jeep deal was poorly managed; instead of building a consensus to try it she dug in and P.O. a great many folks who would normally be supporters. Let somebody with a farm or acreage do this instead of a corn maze.

    2) This radio deal made no sense and there was no need to rush. In general, there is a great gap of information. TV and what little remains of the newspaper report only snippets and rarely update despite boilerplate promises to do so. But unilaterally giving one guy a radio made no sense; what elevate him over TV, radio, newspapers? Poor decision.

    3) County Exec format grew out of past County Councils acting unilaterally against general public interest and concerns. A check & balance step. Both formats are imperfect, and each Exec has had shortcomings but so have many council members, current and across the years. The attempt to disband the Exec position should be recognized as what it is – a naked power grab by Council leadership.

I voted for the Exec format, and for the current Exec. Want Exec format retained.
Her messaging and outreach need to improve markedly. If she’s not routinely on PAC14, she needs to be (no cable service here). Weekly column to papers. TV snippets always make her look defensive; she might say great things but doesn’t control the editing. Get/use a Youtube channel to concisely discuss issues, plans, etc. on a pro-active basis. That way she can stimulate discussion on topics beforehand instead of doing damage control. She can choose to permit comments or not; both approaches have merit.

  10. If you want to know whats happening – the Sheriffs office has pretty great looking app – you don’t need a FB blogger with over inflated ego and a council women who was a bartender – now teacher know it all.

  11. Wile I m a big supporter of law enforcement, generally, let’s start by stating a few things I think should be obvious:
    1) City and county agencies lost some good will and trust when Mark McGuiver published a report on crime and crime statistics that the Chamber tried to hide and discredit several years ago.
    2) How can it be justified to give a private citizen or media outlet access to a piece of equipment owned by the county in a way that’s exclusive and arguably creates a competitive edge, a quid-pro-quo, liability, and all the other things that come to mind?
    3) We have a very dysfunctional executive and legislative branch at both the city and council levels that has no respect to servant leadership of public service. This is yet another public fight at great expense to the taxpayers. It is an embarrassment and appears to be about much more than an ill-conceived decision to give someone a public resource and access to information that may be used for some sort of feud or self-enrichment instead of public benefit.
That said, I do not like this manipulation of the public trust from either side of the table. You should all be removed from your offices and replaced by elected public servants who have honor and integrity,.
As a result of this nonsense, I have removed myself from ES Undercover. I thing the blogger got too close to politics, including with that silly interview. No credibility left, but goes the same for the politicians. As for the sheriff, I understand the privacy issues, officer safety, etc that make the nonsensical agreement inappropriate, but at the same time what are you willing to do to increase transparency in reporting crimes and safety issues that we need to have in order to make safety decisions as well as well-informed leadership decisions.
