Ford recalling more than half a million F-150s for transmission issues

(WXYZ) — More than half a million Ford trucks have been recalled due to a transmission issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2014 F-150 trucks, due to a signal loss between the transmission output shaft speed sensor and powertrain control module. This issue can increase the risk of a crash, causing the transmission to downshift, regardless of vehicle speed unexpectedly.

Ford dealers will update the powertrain control module software for free. Affected F-150 owners will receive a notification letter next week.

If you have an F-150 that you think could be impacted by this recall, you may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 24S37. You can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov for more information.

    1. That was before a corrupt communist government started dictating all the rules. A bunch of snot nosed punks with college degrees think they know more about building cars than the smart people who have been doing it decades. And it’s not just the auto industry. I have a 40 year old freezer in my garage that is gonna rust out before it stops working. In the meantime, I have been through two “modern” refrigerators in ten years. And the list goes on and on. Government is the cause of 90% of this country’s problems.

  1. Ford has been have issues with their engines and transmission starting around 2004. The issues have affected damn near all car lines, trucks and SUV’S.
What year F-150 has engine problems? If you want a F-150, but also want to avoid engine problems, then steer away from getting model years 2004-2008, 2010, and 2015-2017.Mar 30, 2024.
Ford’s PowerShift dual clutch transmission was used in 2010. Vehicles impacted are the Ford Fiesta (model years 2011-2016) and the Ford Focus (model years 2012-2016) equipped with a PowerShift transmission.
