Republican National Committee co-chairwoman Lara Trump attacked Maryland Senate candidate Larry Hogan for his comments ahead of former President Donald Trump’s trial verdict, saying the fellow Republican “doesn’t deserve” respect.
Lara Trump said the former Maryland governor’s comments that Americans should “respect the verdict and the legal process” just before a New York City jury found Trump guilty on 34 felony counts related to business fraud drew a line in the sand.
“I think it’s ridiculous,” Lara Trump said during an interview on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday morning. “He doesn’t deserve the respect of anyone in the Republican Party at this point. And quite frankly, anybody in America, if that’s the way you feel. That’s very upsetting.”
Hogan’s statement last week ahead of the jury verdict urged the public to support whatever conclusion the jury arrived at.
“Regardless of the result, I urge all Americans to respect the verdict and the legal process. At this dangerously divided moment in our history, all leaders—regardless of party—must not pour fuel on the fire with more toxic partisanship,” Hogan posted on X. “We must reaffirm what has made this nation great: the rule of law.”
Hogan would have been well-advised to keep his thoughts to himself before and after the kangaroo verdict.
He remains the better of two bad choices to fill the seat Cardin has been sleeping in.
He’s slightly, occasionally Republican; his opponent will dutifully dance to whatever tune Chuck Schumer plays.
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Trump will need every republican senator he can muster for sure, but he can’t depend on larry hogan to side with him on anything. hogan is a diehard ” anti-Trumper”. He hates Trump and will never support his ideas or plans.
