Embracing its reputation as a delightful beach town celebrated for its scenic vistas and vibrant community spirit, it harbors a dichotomy that diverges from its idyllic exterior. Despite the allure of beach life, a contrasting reality unveils itself. While seemingly serene, Ocean City grapples with a crime rate that surpasses the national average, adding a layer of complexity to its coastal charm. The paradox of sun-drenched days and shadowy nights introduces an undercurrent of danger, juxtaposing the brightness of this beachside town with concealed challenges beneath the surface.
NOT a good place to waste your money. Everything is priced 5 times (or more) than what it would cost anywhere else and a lot of vulgarity displayed on the boardwalk and always fights or some kind of violence.
When the powers that be continue to market the trash of humanity, you get crime. I’ve lived in the pines for over a decade after selling my condo – we go to the beach (above 130th) – predominantly families / no booze / no loud teens and return home when the grands have had their fill. I’d never take them to the boardwalk in the summer – just losers and low life’s looking for trouble. But, everyone knows that, yet nothing is done about it.
Rickie, put your beer down. What say so? Don’t forget to your add your name and town name and town if you DARE to opine.
Well, Maryland always wanted to be California – they have made it. The Shore is the shit hole of Maryland as on politician once said. It appears Maryland has become East Coast California.
