Trump: Paris and London are ‘no longer recognizable’ because they ‘opened their doors to jihad’

“They are no longer recognizable and we can’t let that happen to our country,” former President Donald Trump said.

Former President Donald Trump said during a Wisconsin campaign rally that Paris and London are “no longer recognizable” because they “opened their doors to jihad.”

“We’ve seen what happened when Europe opened their doors to jihad,” Trump said. “Look at Paris, look at London — they’re no longer recognizable.”

Trump made the comments on Wednesday in Waukesha, Wis., during a presidential campaign rally.

He added that he was “going to get myself into a lot of trouble with the folks in Paris and the folks in London, but you know what, that’s the fact. They are no longer recognizable and we can’t let that happen to our country.”

Trump further noted that “we have incredible culture, tradition — nothing wrong with their culture, their tradition — we can’t let that happen here and I’ll never let it happen to the United States of America.”

His remarks come amid the southern border crisis, which Trump said last month he would work to stop by using the National Guard to deport 15-20 million illegal immigrants from the U.S.

Trump spoke after police broke up pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University and UCLA over the Israel-Hamas war. More than 2,000 people have been arrested at such protests across dozens of college campuses, according to a tally by The Associated Press.
