IRS to Begin Mailing Compliance Letters to Over 100,000 Americans, Action Made Possible by Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act

The Internal Revenue Service is sending out more than 125,000 compliance letters to Americans it says have not paid taxes.

The effort is part of how the IRS is spending money it was given under the Inflation Reduction Act, according to an IRS news release.

The CP59 notices of a failure to file will cover tax years from 2017 through 2021.

The IRS said it will send 25,000 letters to Americans with more than $1 million in income who did not file a return.

More than 100,000 letters will go to individuals with incomes of between $400,000 and $1 million who did not file.

  1. I wonder how many of the 100,000 are common folk who neglected to pay taxes on some insignificant amount that wouldn’t buy two bags of groceries.

  2. Please don’t complain about people being pursued for not paying their taxes. That’s just silly. We all have to pay. If you want to lower taxes that’s fine. But whatever taxes are owed need to be paid.

  3. Trump, Biden, and all business persons do everything they can to not pay taxes. I love how the tiniest little nit-shit business is an LLC an entity in and of itself that no person or their wealth can be held accountable for and if they have multiple you can Rob Peter to Pay Paul and float paper and roll assets out of one bankrupt it free and clear into another and people think this is an acceptable way of doing business.
