Hollywood lawyer Kevin Morris, who has been dubbed as Hunter Biden’s “sugar brother” by his friends, testified on Thursday that he did not break any campaign finance laws by lending millions of dollars to the president’s son, as per New York Post on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Morris said he was only trying to help Hunter Biden avoid being dragged into the impeachment inquiry against former President Donald Trump in 2019.
Morris appeared before the House committees that are investigating President Joe Biden for alleged corruption involving his son’s foreign business dealings.
Morris denied the allegations made by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) that he was paying Hunter Biden’s tax bills to insulate Joe Biden from political damage during his presidential campaign.
“You stated in the press release that ‘[s]hortly after meeting Hunter Biden at a Joe Biden campaign event in 2019, Kevin Morris began paying Hunter Biden’s tax liability to insulate then‐presidential candidate Joe Biden from political liability,'” Morris’ lawyer Bryan Sullivan wrote to Comer in a letter.
