Governor Moore’s Statement Regarding Tentative Three-Year Labor Agreements Reached Between the State of Maryland and Maryland’s Four Major Civilian Employee Labor Unions

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Wes Moore today released the following statement regarding the tentative three-year labor agreements reached between the State of Maryland and Maryland’s four major civilian employee labor unions:

“I’m pleased to announce that the State of Maryland has reached tentative three-year labor agreements in partnership with Maryland’s four major civilian employee labor unions. Rebuilding state government and supporting our state employees is a top priority for the Moore-Miller Administration, and while the final contracts must be ratified by a full member vote by all four unions, these preliminary agreements are another critical step forward in that work.

I would like to thank the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Maryland Professional Employees Council (MPEC), American Federation of Teachers – Maryland (AFT), American Federation of Teachers and Maryland School for the Deaf for their partnership in negotiation as we reached these agreements before the December 31st deadline –  and thank them for everything they do to uplift State of Maryland employees. I would also like to thank the numerous State employees who worked diligently to move these negotiations forward.”

  1. Translated , he just gave more of our money to state employees that shouldn’t be allowed to have a union so they will continue to vote democrat until bankruptcy which isn’t far away

  2. State employees should NOT be allowed to have a union.
It is no more than an addition to the leftist political party – while raising costs for laziness!

    1. IN PART I agree State Employees should not have a union

However, at ECI there are so many administrative staff involved with CONTRABAND and inmates, they will conspire to fire you….
So, you need unions at ECI

  3. Moore is a fool big mistake for the state and his employee Jake Day a mistake for Salisbury and worse for Maryland.
