Millennial Aria Lewis is infatuated with the 1940s—and has been since she was 15 years old, growing up in a somewhat “vintage” family in North Carolina.
Mrs. Lewis, now 22, has embraced the role of a “tradwife” (traditional wife), a neo-retro lifestyle trend adopted by some conservative newlywed women that has garnered a following on social media. She and her husband, Andrew Lewis, 28, embrace this choice, living together on a farm they purchased in Missouri.
Growing Up an Old Soul
“As a child, I grew up on black and white movies,” she told The Epoch Times. “Dad really likes jazz. It was something that was a part of my life that I thought was normal. I read so many historical fiction books about the ’40s.”
Mrs. Lewis’s great-grandfather, who passed away in 2017, served in World War II—which probably instilled in her a strong sense of connection to this particular period.
“I started listening to more of the music and really started to get more vintage clothing,” she said. “It was just a really fun way to experiment with a different lifestyle.”
Those days are Gone !!! You need every member of family working until they are 90 !!!! two jobs or more ea !!!
I’m curious to know how they survive on one paycheck, or if maybe they inherited money. Sounds more like a fairytail to me.
Back then EVERYTHING was a Lot Better price than Now !!! That’s How !!!! Quality Too !!!!
Having read the article in its entirety, I have to say I’m impressed. She clearly states and shows that she is living a life dedicated to God and service. In my book, that’s a good way to live and a good example to others. They live within their means and it certainly looks like things are working out for them.
Today the GOVT should ( in all the world ) SET BACK PRICES to the 40’s !!!! We cannot keep going UP !!!!
How Far can Up go ?? What is a House or Car going to cost ??? Millions ???? Not going to
be able for our KIDS & Grand kids to survive !!! Pay does Not keep Up with these Gouging prices
They bought a farm in Missouri, is your answer 8:52 & 9:07
Are you implying that by buying a farm they get everything free? Including the farm?
Did you the word free anywhere in may post 6:42. Obviously you know nothing about farming. When farming, a job away from home is not feasible. Women have to work at farms also, for it to be successful
Govt has the Authority to set back prices & it should !!! We already pay too much ( 10 times of the 70’s prices ) !!!
Unrealistic to think prices just can keep going Up & Up & Up because people will Never be able to keep up !!!!!
Does she have a sister?
