As we have watched Hooters close, then Coastal Smokehouse, Hogfins stepped in, (Ropewalk) and now the word on the street is that the Tap House owners are allegedly replacing them in the near future. The location is by far one of the best locations in the West Ocean City area, some tell me the food wasn’t very good, the service wasn’t very good and they, (Hogfin) had a lot of trouble keeping staff. I can tell you personally that their parking lot was rarely ever busy since they opened.
This isn’t a Seacrets or a Sunset Grill on the water so their prices at this location need to be far more reasonable, especially for the locals. It’s the only way they are going to excel. West Ocean City needs another bar/restaurant, (aside from Pizza Tugos) that stays open till 2 am. You’d be amazed at hust how many people who are in the business, bartenders, waiters/waitresses etc. who pack Tugos after 10:00 pm when other bar/restaurants are closing.
We will see what happens to the new business that replaces Hogfins, quality of food, their pricing and how late they stay open. Time will tell.
Sitting right on busy Rt 50 is not by anyone’s stretch of the imagination “by far one of the best locations in the West Ocean City area” That’s stupidity at it’s finest. The best locations have a view. A view of the harbor, Ocean City.
With all due respect, ANY location on the main highway, (Rt. 50) that corners at a traffic light is by far the most prime property there is. Hence why you see the Royal Farms, WaWa, pharmacies, gas stations and yes even restaurants at such locations. So I’ll agree to disagree with your comment. Notice how I didn’t call you “stupid”.

For us that live south, Full Moon checked all of those boxes. Now THAT was a true local’s place.

45th Street Taphouse recently scored one of the best chefs in Ocean City. If she has influence over this establishment then it will definitely be one to contend with. We need a new good spot over here in West Oc
That was a good place to eat too. Brought it in with another tap house that can’t produce a good crab cake.
