Maryland judge shot dead in his driveway, troopers sent to homes of other judges

A Maryland judge was shot dead at his home Thursday night and police have not announced any arrests in the shocking crime.

Washington County Circuit Judge Andrew Wilkinson, 52, was found in the driveway of his Hagerstown home around 8 p.m., according to local reports and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Wilkinson, who suffered gunshot wounds, was taken to Meritus Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office has not yet reported any arrests or released any suspect description.

A motive for the slaying is unclear.

A former state representative, Neil Parrott, confirmed the judge’s death on X.

“Horrible news in Washington County tonight. It appears that Judge Andrew Wilkinson was shot multiple times and has passed away,” he tweeted.
