Biden hits the beach on vacation as conflicts escalate: Israel preps ground invasion of Gaza as U.S. troops are targeted while Congress remains paralyzed without a House speaker

President Joe Biden plans to escape Washington for the weekend and head to his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware home as the crisis continues in the Middle East and chaos over House speakership has left Congress unable to help.

In the Middle East, Israel is readying a ground invasion of Gaza, while U.S. troops have been targeted in Iraq and Syria, all the while the clock is ticking to get more U.S. hostages back as the first two were released.

On Capitol Hill, Rep. Jim Jordan’s third try for the speakership failed, prompting even more uncertainty about when the House GOP would elect a new speaker.

  1. Gotta get to the beach and flaunt that good looking body of his! Gonna be a little chilly on the old boy this weekend He will have to wrap his shawl around him good.

  2. Don’t blame Democrats for all these problems. Look at the sorry Republicans. They eat their own and flounder around like fish in a net. It’s happening in the federal government nation wide. ( electing a House Speaker). It’s happening at the state side and look at pitiful Wicomico County. County government can’t function together, I hear Republic Club and Central Committee members fighting against a group called Delmarva Conservatives who want to take over all County and state functions and the Democrats just sit back quietly and watch the zoo. So please Republicans, suck it up!
