Date and Time: 10/19/2023 at 9 a.m.
Location: Westbound Route 404 at Route 309
Narrative: Shortly before 9 a.m., Troopers responded to Queen Anne Highway (Rt 404) and Starr Road (Rt 309) in Queen Anne for a two-vehicle crash. Initial investigation revealed vehicle one, a Ford Edge, failed to slow down and struck vehicle two, a tractor-trailer, that was stopped at the red traffic signal. The vehicles were traveling westbound.
The operator of vehicle one, Jayme Lynn Karrip (42 years of age) of Dundalk, MD was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Route 404 was shut down for approximately 2 hours. Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with road closures.
The Maryland State Police CRASH team and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) are assisting with the investigation.
