(CNN) — Owners of about 3.3 million Hyundai and Kia cars and SUVs in the United States should avoid parking in or near structures because the vehicles could suddenly catch fire – whether they’re being driven or not, according to an announcement Wednesday from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall is just the latest in a long and frequent series of fire-related recalls of Hyundai and Kia vehicles in the past few years for a variety of reasons.
The vehicles addressed in this particular recall could develop an internal fluid leak in the anti-lock brake module. This could result in a short circuit leading to overheating and, possibly, a fire, according to the NHTSA.
LEMONS > take them Back then !!!!!
Outside, where Baltimore and DC Hyundais and Kias are the subjects of frequent borrowing. It’s just a matter of time before insurance companies jack the rates up on those vehicles to cover the losses.
Who’s going to drop the race bomb first?
Both brands are favored by a certain demographic group and the subgroup that preys on the rest (and everybody else). Are the manufacturers cutting corners on safety and security in favor of “affordability” and style?
