Salisbury – Samuel J. “S.J.” Disharoon V, 83, of here passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. Born in Salisbury, MD on April 28, 1940, he was the son of Samuel J. Disharoon IV and Doris (Banks) Disharoon.
S.J. was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany in Military Intelligence. He owned and operated Salisbury Monument for over 60 years. He was a member of the Redmens Tony Tank Tribe # 149 in Fruitland, MD, past president of East Side Men’s Club, and a member of the NRA. S.J. loved to fish and be on the water. He was a boat captain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Warwick.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wanda Disharoon, children, Samuel J. Disharoon VI and his wife Lisa of Salisbury, MD, Scott B. Disharoon of Salisbury, MD, James G. Maynard, Jr, and his wife Gena of Broken Arrow, OK, Angela Shipley and her husband Mark, of Salisbury, MD, and Kevin S. Maynard and his wife Jenn, of Willards, MD, 18 grandchildren, and “almost” 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Siloam House of Fellowship, 26879 Siloam Rd. Salisbury, MD where friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Pastor Danny Travers will officiate.
