The new owner advertised, “Family Friendly” atmosphere. While it may be about time OC finally opened a gay bar, one will always wonder, will someone see my car there, what will people think? So the big question is, will you patronize this business being that it is “Family Friendly”?

The family friendly image of Ocean City went out the window 20 years ago when they decided to pander to retirees and boomers and turn a blind eye to all of the public intoxication and DUIs during Cruz-In and Bike Week.
I was at my local bar, ordered my favorite craft beer. The only problem was it was given to me in a bud, light glass.. there was no way I was going to drink out of that class so I asked Bar Tender to please give me another class which he did. When I poured my beer out of the bud, light glass into the other glass the bartender then took it and threw it in the trashcan. He was very happy with my tip at the end of the night.
I used to go to whiskers a few times a year, no more.
HELL NO, I WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BE A PATRON TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.
If the drinks and food and atmosphere are good, why not?

No family in their right mind would take their FAMILY to a gay bar really? I hope they get very little attendance and re-think this decision! A resort friendly place this is supposed to be for family and always has had that title maybe everyone needs to rethink what the area is known for, if you want to be a gay establishment then change the family tag you do not deserve it and neither do the people that would have come there. Your obvious WOKE decision might just end the business.
There are many Same Sex Couples who have children. If the family believe this establishment is not right for their children, then they will be left with a babysitter or not go at all. Many of the neanderthal postings here are not really all that shocking… after all, y’all are below the MD Line and most of us know what that means for others not mentioned, yet…
If I Am ever in OC, I will bring my children in and if I deem it not appropriate, then we will go someplace where it will be.

You don’t know what you’re talking about 5:13. There were so many cars going east on Rt 50 in the Berlin area Saturday I could barely find an opening to cross. I read you post all the time. You just have a personalty conflict with Rick Meehan and want OC to fail with him being Mayor. Jealous people never prosper.
Town has been failing for years…doing the same thing over and over ago….lack of change. Hiring folks from outside without proper vetting THEN finding out the new hires problems. More rules means more trouble. Lather rinse repeat. He had very good.m leaders leading into the 21st century. Then BAM…… we are 23 yrs into the 21st century, many of the names are the same…many in the local govt same. Yet things continue to worsen. Fams left long ago yet the pounding on Rickies underarmour golf shirt and others….Family friendly. The explosion that is West OC……yet we cant get summer help NOR affordable housing for all workers…. another big name hotel going up in 13th and 14th streets. It paused for an argument for alley rightaway, but here it comes. Another hylton type where the afternoon sun will be blocked by the highrise. Hello???????
Sandbars 10 miles long but beach replenishment doesnt cause them
The inlet needs dredged…..we gray beards said the way the jetty was built decades ago (narrowing the channel) will increase sand pile up going into the wharf. Mom nature at her best and now the channel cant be navigated during low tides. Fisherman have left for the north, last year a yacht during White Marlin got stuck.
Its the little things that add up……route 50 bridge and not having people (revenue) in town during the week days. Tues-thurs. Packing weekends dont make up for it. Strategic planning and knowing who your bread and butter are….breeds success. Not traffic on route 50 or 90. Thats like counting people in town by demoflushing back in the day.
Vacancies galore last weekend and Daytrippers with their cowboy hats came and when. Shivering Sat.
Also, its our right as citizens to question our elected officials. Not just voting in Nov. Citizen time, letters to the editor and talking to them on the street in a civilized manner. No yelling no disrepect. Ive drank with Rick…he knows who I am and we have no issue agreeing to disagree. Conversation starts action…..getting frustrated, well thats part of the job.

I don’t know why everything has to broadcast, and labeled. Summer they’ll probably do as usual. Maybe they think it will help in the winter. I don’t know the gay population in OC, and surrounding areas.

In my 30’s, I patronized a true “gay” bar and there was nothing “family friendly” about it.
It was strictly a bar, not a restaurant, so the prospect of children being there was zero.
You definitely have to be open minded.
I managed to end the evening unscathed.
And, yes, there were people in the place doing nasty things. All depends on how the establishment is run, as to what you will experience.
Well, if they don’t want to be segregated or treated differently, then why do we/they need a bar labeled as gay?
They can and do go anywhere just like ungay people.
