Man with apparently no criminal history — and whose catalytic converter was just stolen — accused of fatally stabbing man who cops say tried to steal rims from his SUV

A New York man with apparently no criminal history — and whose catalytic converter was stolen two months ago — is accused of fatally stabbing a man who cops say tried to steal tires and rims from his SUV.

What are the details?

Detectives said 28-year-old Jacob Alvarenga Mejia saw three men trying to steal the wheel rims and tires from his 2023 Toyota Highlander, which was parked in front of his Long Island home around 1:30 a.m. May 13, WABC-TV reported.

Mejia is accused of walking outside his home with a large kitchen knife and stabbing one of the men multiple times, the station said.

Luis Pena, 22, of the Bronx died at a hospital, WABC noted.

  1. People are getting tired of this shit. Law enforcement’s hand are tied, and when they do make arrests the liberal judges releases the thieves with no consequences. We must take law and order into our hands to keep what we have worked for. Too bad he didn’t stab the Hell out of the other two thieves also. He should be released and charges dropped.

    1. If a person is caught stealing, amputation of a thumb is in order, Steal again, the whole hand, next time …. Get the picture?

  2. see the government wants you dependent on them. so you are no longer allowed to stand up for yourself and your family! no more white males to the rescue! that’s the problem and that’s racist! so you have to accept what happens to you like a little child until someone from the government comes to fill out a report!

  3. If the thief was caught in the act – no charges should be filed against the person protecting his property!

      1. It’s my property! so when some *sshole tries to take it, they are making a decision that their life is not worth anything by breaking the law, being on my property and trying to steal things I’ve worked hard and long for. It’s their decision. I will protect my property, my family and pets.

        1. 12:30, I’m not saying you should let people steal from you. But killing them for stealing stuff is too much.

          1. Wrong 6:54, thieves know the laws. Would they want someone stealing from them? They should consider death is a possibility if caught stealing someone else’s property.
