The 7 States Banning New Gas-Powered Cars

A growing number of states are following California’s lead in mandating zero-emission vehicles.

California will require all new cars, SUVs and pickup trucks sold in the state to generate zero tailpipe emissions by 2035. Approved by the California Air Resources Board in August, the policy won’t take existing gas-powered cars off the road, but automakers and car dealers will be restricted to selling electric vehicles and certain plug-in hybrids.

“Our cars shouldn’t make wildfires worse — and create more days filled with smoky air,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said in 2020 when announcing the executive order that created the rule. “Cars shouldn’t melt glaciers or raise sea levels, threatening our cherished beaches and coastlines.”

  1. Last summer California drivers were told to not charge their cars between certain hours because the electrical grid couldn’t handle the load. What will happen when the majority of vehicles are battery powered and need daily charging? We have idiots campaigning to shut down nuclear, coal, and natural gas electricity generating plants, all reliable base load sources. And there are people that think a windmill is an eyesore. The sun doesn’t shine 24 hours a day in most places, except a short period around the artic circle, so that makes solar unreliable. Looks to me like we still need gasoline and diesel fuel for personal and commercial transportation way longer than 12 mores years. Please stop voting these stupid people into such powerful positions.

  2. This Bullshht needs to be Stopped by the SCOTUS Once & for ALL !!!! Gas / Oil / Coal NOT going Anywhere !!!!!

  3. 2035….MD with electric vehicles. Only 12 years away…only 12 years until the Ocean City 10 mile island will continue to have bars and alcohol establishments on every street corner – but weed and battery hookups too! All restaurants will be removed to afford the charging stations and the old 94th street mall – will be the worlds largest munchies warehouse!

What was that? Someone thinking about building the charging stations in high rise complexes? No no no, OC has height limits so not to piss off any council members daily views!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA EVs MD, 2035 – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  4. America at a Crucial Point in History !!! The Good MUST Defeat the BAD in this country or America is LOST !!!!
