WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting of four men Sunday afternoon in Southeast, D.C. Police are asking for help identifying the suspect’s vehicle.

Shortly before 4 pm, officers arrived at the 2900 block of Martin Luther King, Junior Avenue, to investigate a shooting report. At the location, police found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The fourth victim walked into a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. At least one of the victims is in critical condition.

The MPD tweeted, “Lookout is a Black car, possibly an Infiniti, with an AR-15 sticking out the window. Last seen southbound toward South Capitol Street.”

  1. From DC Metropolitan Police 2001 Murder Analysis Report:
As in previous years, the overwhelming majority of
homicide victims in the District of Columbia between
    1998 and 2000 were African-American. Of the 744
homicides that occurred during this three-year period,
685 – or more than 92 percent – involved AfricanAmerican victims. The number of Hispanic/Latino
and white victims was identical: 24 in each group, or
3.2 percent of the homicide total.
According to the 2000 Census, African-Americans
account for 60 percent of the District’s population,
meaning they are seriously over-represented among
homicide victims. By contrast, whites account for 31
percent of DC’s population and persons of Hispanic
or Latino origin represent nearly 8 percent.

In 2022, 203 people were murder victims in DC, over
    90% were African-American on African-American crimes.

DC local political and law enforcement leadership and policy
in DC are virtually 100% African-American Democrat and have
been for long enough to realize that the problem is bigger
than local government can hope to handle.

  2. The gun did not commit the violence.. the CRIMINAL did. My AR-15 has never wandered off to commit “gun” violence. More people are killed by being beaten to death than by AR-15’s…we going to get rid of those darn “baseball bats of violence”….or pillows….how many people are smothered by pillow violence?

  3. Takes a GOOD person with a GUN to Stop a BAD person with a GUN !!! Criminals WILL always have GUNS !!!!

  4. Just think, the DC city council wanted to reduce/eliminate punishment /jail time for several types of crime and cited on public record that crime isn’t an issue in the district.

Wonder what that group of geniuses thought about this? Isolated incident? What about the Latino kids jumping in front cars to get them to stop while their buddies throw a brick through the window and jack the car? What about the uptick in smash and grab robberies in broad daylight in the middle of the day, or the senior hill staffer for a prominent Senator getting knifed? I could go on and on, but what is the point? DC is just dangerous and not a nice place to visit.
