A Red Flag First Amendment Violation: DirecTV Announces They Will Drop Newsmax After Removing OANN Last Year

DirecTV announced it was de-platforming conservative Newsmax Channel this week.

DirecTV says they will drop Newsmax after they dropped the conservative channel OAN last year.

GOP lawmakers are promising to investigate this “red flag First Amendment violation” and have asked for DirecTV to turn over their ratings for each of their channels and the fees paid by the network to all of the channels.

This is despite the fact that DirecTV PAYS 11 liberal channels on its network lineup.

  1. Like Cable, people are ditching Satellite over internet streaming, like Sling TV, Philo, etc.
I don’t think it is in their best interest, and is a bad business move for them.

  2. Come on people. It’s not a First Amendment Violation. Direct TV/ATT is a corporation, not the government. First Amendment applies only to government. Private people and private enterprises are completely allowed to choose what they carry on air, in print, on websites, etc. It’s funny because I thought you all were also big fans of free market capitalism. But I guess that’s only when it suits your agenda. If you crazies would learn your basic lessons in civics and our constitutional system then we might not have to deal with the nonsense that is tearing us all apart.

  3. DirectTV dropping a network because they can’t come to a consensus on licensing fees is just capitalism. It had nothing to do with the First Amendment.

Another GEORGE SOROS corporation. Only COMPANIES censor a corporation from allowing Companies to allow others opinions are backed by millions coming from GEORGE SOROS backed money.
