Tidal Health Parking Garage Collapse

1/22/23 (B shift) Around 4am, a rescue box was struck for a building collapse. Shortly after units came up on the air, wicomico central advised this would be one of the parking garages of Tidal Health Hospital. Units would arrive to find a partial collapse of the second floor parking level. It appeared the driver of the SUV pictured struck the retaining wall at an unknown amount of speed, which then led to an unknown chain of events ultimately causing a structural failure. The occupant was taken to the just a stones throw away emergency room for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.

  1. That picture is a good representation of Salisbury and and Fruitland . There have been mass attacks black juveniles in Fruitland around Main st Camden ave and School st they dress in all black and throw large rocks through the car windows of drivers which will be deadly if someone is struck in the head. The police are too lazy to do anything and the city council is worthless.. vote them all out they are failing tax payers

    1. 12:44 – what are you taking about? This is the PRMC/Tidal Health parking garage, not Fruitland.

Tell you what – go drive around school street and draw the rock throwing miscreants out and take some pictures of them and send them to Joe. Good luck.

      1. I actually did drive by with my paintball gun and I was giving an example of how poorly our community which includes Fruitland is being policed and managed, over your head I guess

  2. If memory serves me, the parking garage was built on “recovered” land that was part of a lake and swamp. I assume the underground is just as unstable (soft clay) as the new high rise building foundation. Could this be part of the problem??

  3. Does anyone else think that this is a little scary? I don’t know how hard that person hit it but should that have happened? If anyone with an engineering background can chime in, I would love to hear what they think.

    1. Amateur engineer here. Judging from the damage and shape of the car, I’d say they hit it pretty frikin hard and KIAs are a pretty sound car!

  4. How did the subject of Fruitland get into this this is Tidal Health Hospital parking garage do you all need glasses to read and see what is printed? Truth is there needs to be some rocks into the ones running Tidal Health itsself. There needs to be more nurses, doctors, and the ones running it to have compassion for the patients and their families the old PRMC was run much better than the Tidal Health bunch. It’s a shame this conglomerate has taken over Salisbury and all the surrounding medical facilities. Competition is a good thing it keeps them on their toes and differences can be a good thing. Miss you PRMC !!!!

    1. Our area is crumbling from the parking garage and poor healthcare from tidal health to our crumbling society where feral juveniles are allowed to continue to throw rocks at drivers as well as rolling tires in the road on rt 13 the day before… Salisbury and Fruitland are dangerous crap holes
